General Subjects Teacher job opportunity with a focus on Literacy or Science.

About the School:

A school dedicated to providing education and support for boys aged 9 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including those with additional learning difficulties.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate General Subjects Teacher to deliver high-quality education across multiple curriculum areas for pupils with SEMH needs. This is a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of students in a nurturing and specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible lessons across a range of subjects at Key Stages 2 and 3.
  • Plan and implement learning in line with whole-school curriculum expectations and SEMH-informed practices.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external partners to support pupil outcomes.
  • Fulfil professional duties in accordance with Teachers’ Standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Subject specialism in either Literacy or Science.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom practice with the ability to teach across multiple subjects.
  • Secure skills in English, Mathematics, and ICT.

Preferred

  • Experience in SEMH-informed teaching practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with vocational learning opportunities.
