Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding leadership and strategic direction for the school’s Catholic mission and ethos.
  • Ensure the highest standards of education, safeguarding, and pastoral care for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Deliver a clear, ambitious vision that drives continuous improvement and maintains excellence.
  • Lead whole-school development through self-evaluation, evidence-based decision-making, and strategic planning.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, governors, the Diocese, and external professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture that supports staff and pupils alike.
  • Manage complex challenges and drive positive change aligned with the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A practising Roman Catholic with a reference from a Catholic Priest.
  • Substantial leadership experience in specialist or mainstream education.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, compassion, and ambition.
  • Strategic capability to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school rated Outstanding or equivalent.
  • Experience with Catholic education or values-based leadership.
  • Background in school improvement or transformation projects.
  • Experience in managing multi-site operations.
