The Opportunity:
As a Geography Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping student learning and engagement in a dynamic, student-centred environment. You will be expected to teach Geography at KS3 and at least one of the subjects at A level, using innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
- Teach Geography at KS3 and at least one subject at A level, using innovative and technology-enhanced resources.
- Set, mark, and provide constructive feedback on students’ work and assessments.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with the school’s cycle.
- Adapt teaching strategies based on student feedback and performance.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide oral reports to parents.
- Support students’ wellbeing and behaviour, and report any concerns to the safeguarding team.
- Lead two extra-curricular activities weekly and contribute to the school’s marketing efforts.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to the development of schemes of work.
- Engage in professional development initiatives and CPD opportunities provided by the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3 and A level.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to use technology and innovative resources in teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience with the CIE curriculum.
- Background in international education.
- Experience in leading extra-curricular activities.
- Familiarity with Steplab or Teaching WalkThrus methodologies.
