The Opportunity:

As a Geography Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping student learning and engagement in a dynamic, student-centred environment. You will be expected to teach Geography at KS3 and at least one of the subjects at A level, using innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Teach Geography at KS3 and at least one subject at A level, using innovative and technology-enhanced resources.
  • Set, mark, and provide constructive feedback on students’ work and assessments.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with the school’s cycle.
  • Adapt teaching strategies based on student feedback and performance.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide oral reports to parents.
  • Support students’ wellbeing and behaviour, and report any concerns to the safeguarding team.
  • Lead two extra-curricular activities weekly and contribute to the school’s marketing efforts.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to the development of schemes of work.
  • Engage in professional development initiatives and CPD opportunities provided by the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3 and A level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to use technology and innovative resources in teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience with the CIE curriculum.
  • Background in international education.
  • Experience in leading extra-curricular activities.
  • Familiarity with Steplab or Teaching WalkThrus methodologies.
