The Opportunity:
We are seeking a German Teacher Assistant to support the Modern Foreign Language Department in enhancing students' language skills. This role involves working with students at both GCSE and A-Level, contributing to teaching and learning, and participating in cultural and linguistic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in the classroom by assisting with lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Deliver small group and individual sessions to improve students' spoken and written German.
- Conduct speaking assessments and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Assist in planning and delivering language-related events and enrichment activities.
- Promote an understanding of German culture, traditions, and customs.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance the quality of language teaching.
- Maintain accurate records and support administrative tasks related to the MFL department.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to departmental development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent spoken and written command of the German language.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence and self-motivation to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with students in a classroom or educational setting.
- Ability to support students at both GCSE and A-Level levels.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or assisting with language learning.
- Knowledge of German culture and customs.
- Familiarity with assessment and evaluation techniques in language education.
- Experience with digital tools used in language teaching and learning.
