The Opportunity:
As a German Teacher (IB MYP and DP), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education aligned with the IB curriculum. You will inspire students in the Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP), helping them develop critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective through the power of the German language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, IB-aligned German lessons that support student growth and academic success.
- Provide clear, structured instruction that encourages critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and cross-disciplinary connections.
- Assess student performance in line with IB standards, offering timely and actionable feedback to support improvement.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic engagement.
- Support individual student needs, including those with diagnosed learning or language requirements, in collaboration with the Student Support Team.
- Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school staff to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Utilize available IT and AI tools to improve efficiency and maintain academic integrity.
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Maintain open communication with parents through a digital platform to keep them informed of student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A completed teacher training degree for upper secondary education or a degree in German Studies or German Language and Literature.
- Experience in teaching and a clear understanding of the responsibilities associated with the role.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Passion for teaching the value and beauty of the German language and its connection to real-world learning and other subject areas.
