The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the art department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum aligned with international educational standards.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
  • Support and mentor art teachers, fostering a culture of professional growth and development.
  • Promote and organize art exhibitions, competitions, and events to showcase student work.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning in the art department.

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school’s arts program and its integration into the broader curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrable experience in teaching and leading an art department in a British-style international school.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A deep understanding of art education and curriculum development.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs.
  • Familiarity with international education standards and best practices.

Preferred

  • Experience in a bilingual educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Chinese contemporary culture and an interest in integrating it into the art curriculum.
  • Experience with departmental planning, reporting, and the use of information and communication technology in education.
