Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the school’s academic vision.
- Collaborate with the academic team to support curriculum development and student achievement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Provide professional development opportunities for English teachers and support staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring alignment with international assessment standards.
- Represent the school at internal and external events, promoting its educational values and mission.
- Stay up to date with best practices in English education and integrate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching and leadership within a British-style international school.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing a departmental team.
- Strong understanding of international curricula, including IGCSE and A Level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
Preferred
- Experience with departmental planning and reporting.
- Familiarity with using information and communication technology in teaching and learning.
- Interest in and willingness to engage with Chinese contemporary culture.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
