Head of Boarding Summer Camp for 2026. Lead residential operations with focus on student wellbeing and safety.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Boarding Summer Camp, you will be responsible for leading all residential, pastoral and operational aspects of the programme running from 18 June to 25 July 2026. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about student wellbeing, safety and the delivery of high-quality residential experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership of the residential camp and ensure excellent pastoral care for all students.
  • Supervise academic, activities and residential teams, providing clear direction and support.
  • Create and manage staff rotas, timetables and daily operational schedules.
  • Oversee accommodation, dorm allocations, transport, medication, allergies and dietary requirements.
  • Coordinate arrivals, departures and airport transfers.
  • Lead and supervise excursions and off-site activities, ensuring safety and safeguarding standards are met.
  • Manage parent communication, including concerns, incidents and emergency updates.
  • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety compliance and emergency procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • English C2 level and Spanish C1 level.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in residential life within similar programmes.
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in recreation, camps, outdoor education, youth programming or related fields.
  • Previous experience working with high school students as a camp counsellor, tutor or similar role.
  • Proven experience supervising staff and providing dynamic leadership to teams.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and team-management skills.
  • Experience overseeing timetables, staff duties and daily operations.
  • Experience managing parent communication and incident handling.
  • Experience coordinating large groups of children in residential settings.

Preferred

  • Experience managing logistics including transport, dorms, medication, allergies and special requirements.
  • Experience leading training days and daily staff meetings.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and commitment to student welfare.
  • Ability to maintain calm, effective leadership in crisis situations.
  • Experience managing petty cash and camp resources.
  • Ability to lead and supervise excursions, ensuring safety of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated excellence in pastoral care and student support.
  • Degree in Education, Child Development or related field.
