Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Design and Technology curriculum at Key Stage 3 and beyond.
- Deliver high-quality teaching across D&T, Food Technology, and Textiles.
- Implement safeguarding policies and procedures with a strong commitment to child protection.
- Support and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of professional development.
- Stay up-to-date with the UK curriculum and ensure alignment with AQA qualifications.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Promote a culture of innovation, creativity, and resilience within the department.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and share best practices with colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum degree specialisation in Design Technology or Food Technology, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in middle or senior leadership roles within a school context.
- Strong knowledge of graphic design principles and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software.
- Experience teaching GCSE AQA Design and Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the pastoral responsibilities of teaching.
Preferred
- Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE and A-Level.
- Leadership experience in a school setting with a focus on Design and Technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively and inspire both students and colleagues.
- Passion for professional development and collaboration with like-minded educators.
