Summary:

Head of Design Technology and Engineering sought to lead and teach KS3 to KS5 with a focus on technical excellence and strong pupil outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum development and drive high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Teach across Design Technology and Engineering disciplines to GCSE, BTEC and A-Level.
  • Ensure safe and effective workshop practice in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Lead and develop staff within the department and the wider Foundation.
  • Inspire and challenge pupils of all abilities, supporting progression into STEM pathways.
  • Develop enrichment opportunities and external partnerships.
  • Manage departmental resources, facilities and budgets.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge and technical expertise in Design Technology and Engineering.
  • Experience in teaching and leading at KS3 to KS5 level.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Commitment to innovation and inclusive education.
  • Ability to manage resources, facilities, and budgets effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with BTEC Engineering qualifications.
  • Background in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience in fostering external partnerships and enrichment opportunities.
  • Familiarity with STEM pathways and progression opportunities.
