The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Economics and Business Studies to lead and deliver high-quality teaching across KS4 and KS5, including Economics (A Level) and Business Studies (GCSE & BTEC). This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic and innovative curriculum, while supporting colleagues and driving student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead curriculum development and drive high standards of teaching and learning
• Deliver engaging lessons across academic and vocational pathways
• Monitor pupil progress and use data to raise achievement
• Support and develop colleagues within the department
• Enrich learning through real-world applications and external partnerships
• Ensure compliance with assessment and examination requirements
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in teaching Economics and Business Studies at KS4 and KS5
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring pupils
• Excellent leadership and collaborative skills
• Ability to develop and implement a high-quality curriculum
• Experience in monitoring and raising student achievement through data

Preferred

• Experience with BTEC and CTEC qualifications
• Background in leading a department or team
• Familiarity with the American High School Diploma curriculum
• Experience in developing external partnerships and real-world learning opportunities
