The Opportunity:
As the Head of Drama, you will lead the teaching and development of drama across the school, with a focus on LAMDA examinations and major productions. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about drama education and has the ability to inspire and engage students of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage drama productions throughout the school.
- Deliver high-quality drama lessons through individual and paired teaching.
- Prepare students for LAMDA examinations with expert guidance and support.
- Develop and implement drama curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to enhance the arts program.
- Mentor and support drama students in their personal and academic growth.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Promote drama and performance opportunities both within and beyond the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a drama teacher and director.
- Strong subject knowledge in drama and theatre.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare students for LAMDA examinations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for working with children and inspiring their development.
- Ability to manage and coordinate large-scale drama productions.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Background in drama education or performing arts.
- Leadership experience in a teaching or arts-related role.
- Familiarity with the UK education system and curriculum standards.
