The Opportunity:
As Head of Educational Progress (SENCO), you will provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school, shaping inclusive practice and ensuring every pupil achieves their potential. You will collaborate with senior leaders, staff, and external agencies to drive high-quality adaptive teaching and support effective transitions for students with identified needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop inclusive practice across Prep and Pre-Prep, ensuring all pupils with SEND receive tailored support.
- Work closely with senior leaders and the SMT to shape strategic guidance for high-quality teaching and pastoral care.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of specialist provision for pupils with identified SEND needs.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and ensure effective use of resources to achieve outstanding outcomes.
- Provide early identification and intervention strategies to support pupil progress.
- Collaborate with parents and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
- Support staff in implementing adaptive teaching strategies and provide professional development opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND provision.
- Demonstrable experience in SEND provision within an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for inclusive adaptive teaching.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders, staff, and external agencies.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a leadership role within education.
- Experience with developing and implementing inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience with early identification and intervention in SEND provision.
- Experience working with external agencies and supporting parents in SEND provision.
