Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a vision for English education across all key stages.
  • Support and mentor English teachers, providing professional development and guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities that promote a love of literature and language.
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate cross-curricular themes and initiatives.
  • Represent the department at school events and parent meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in leading a department.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and literature.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team of teachers.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
