The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the learning experience of students while contributing to the development of the Design Technology curriculum. The ideal candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner committed to raising standards and inspiring future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on Food.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated instruction and formative assessment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Design Technology Faculty and contribute to curriculum development.
- Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in school-wide events and initiatives that promote the school’s values and ethos.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Design Technology and Food education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Design Technology, preferably Food.
- Experience teaching Design Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong commitment to student achievement and raising standards.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support the school’s values.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience with cross-phase or multi-academy trust environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of learning.
