Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum across all key stages.
- Monitor and track student progress and attainment within the subject area.
- Provide guidance and support to Geography teachers and support staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching.
- Promote student engagement and enthusiasm for Geography through innovative teaching methods.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular Geography activities.
- Contribute to the overall strategic development of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience in managing student progress and attainment.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in Geography teaching.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary on the ULT Teachers’ Pay Scale (£36,400 - £53,040) + TLR2.
