The Opportunity:

As Head of Geography, you will lead the Geography department and play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum and raising student achievement. This is a unique opportunity to influence student outcomes and contribute to a forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum across all key stages.
  • Monitor and track student progress and attainment within the subject area.
  • Provide guidance and support to Geography teachers and support staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching.
  • Promote student engagement and enthusiasm for Geography through innovative teaching methods.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular Geography activities.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic development of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in managing student progress and attainment.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in Geography teaching.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on the ULT Teachers’ Pay Scale (£36,400 - £53,040) + TLR2.
