Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the hockey programme across all age groups.
  • Lead and manage a coaching team to ensure continued success and growth in competitive fixtures.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of training sessions, competitions, and fixtures throughout the academic year.
  • Promote inclusivity and high participation in hockey across the school community.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of teams, ensuring alignment with the school’s sporting goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sport to integrate hockey into the broader co-curricular and sporting strategy.
  • Support the development of junior players through structured training and competitive pathways.
  • Ensure the programme maintains a strong presence in regional and national competitions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a sports coaching or management role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performance hockey teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience in managing large-scale sporting programmes with multiple teams and age groups.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity.

Preferred

  • Experience in working within a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of national and regional hockey competitions and pathways.
  • Familiarity with youth development and coaching best practices.
  • Ability to contribute to the school’s wider sporting and co-curricular strategy.
