The Opportunity:
As Head of Key Stage 5, you will lead and manage the academic and pastoral provision for Years 12 and 13. This role offers the opportunity to shape a high-achieving sixth form and drive impactful teaching and learning. You will play a key role in preparing students for future success, both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage academic and pastoral provision for Years 12 and 13, ensuring outstanding student outcomes.
- Drive high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stage 5, supporting staff in delivering effective and engaging lessons.
- Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to support all learners in reaching their potential.
- Oversee university and career guidance, helping students secure places at top universities and future destinations.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and aspirational sixth form culture aligned with the school’s values.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement the strategic vision for the sixth form.
- Ensure effective communication with parents, students, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status and extensive experience teaching the British National Curriculum.
- At least two years’ experience leading a Key Stage or equivalent, with demonstrable impact.
- Experience in leading and overseeing university applications.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and effective pedagogy.
- A commitment to developing the whole child, including academic achievement, wellbeing, and key competencies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A reflective, collaborative, and solution-focused approach.
Preferred
- Experience in an EAL-rich or international context.
