The Opportunity:

As Head of Key Stage 5, you will lead and manage the academic and pastoral provision for Years 12 and 13. This role offers the opportunity to shape a high-achieving sixth form and drive impactful teaching and learning. You will play a key role in preparing students for future success, both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage academic and pastoral provision for Years 12 and 13, ensuring outstanding student outcomes.
  • Drive high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stage 5, supporting staff in delivering effective and engaging lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to support all learners in reaching their potential.
  • Oversee university and career guidance, helping students secure places at top universities and future destinations.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and aspirational sixth form culture aligned with the school’s values.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement the strategic vision for the sixth form.
  • Ensure effective communication with parents, students, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and extensive experience teaching the British National Curriculum.
  • At least two years’ experience leading a Key Stage or equivalent, with demonstrable impact.
  • Experience in leading and overseeing university applications.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and effective pedagogy.
  • A commitment to developing the whole child, including academic achievement, wellbeing, and key competencies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A reflective, collaborative, and solution-focused approach.

Preferred

  • Experience in an EAL-rich or international context.
