Head of Mathematics needed for a dynamic school. Lead the maths department and teach Years 9 - 11.

The Opportunity:
As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire the department, delivering high-quality teaching to pupils in Years 9 - 11. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys and shape a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons to pupils across the ability range, preparing them for Edexcel IGCSE.
- Develop and implement strategies to support both the most able and those requiring additional assistance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and student outcomes.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning culture within the department.
- Stay up to date with developments in mathematics education and pedagogy.
- Represent the department in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching mathematics at secondary level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
- Proven ability to teach pupils across a range of abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Knowledge of teaching neurodivergent students.
- Experience with Edexcel IGCSE or equivalent qualifications.
- Background in specialist education or pastoral support.
