Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and develop a responsive Maths curriculum aligned with national standards.
- Promote participation, achievement and progression across all ability levels.
- Lead and support staff to ensure effective delivery of Maths.
- Drive continuous improvement through clear objectives, evaluation and quality planning.
- Work with senior leaders to implement strategic and operational development plans.
- Collaborate with the SENCo to ensure robust systems for tracking and reviewing progress.
- Model high standards in teaching, behaviour and professional conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- UK QTS or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge across number, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving.
- Ability to plan and deliver accredited Maths pathways (Functional Skills, GCSE, Entry Level).
- Skilled in engaging learners through varied and differentiated teaching methods.
- Understanding of assessment and how to use it to support progress.
- Awareness of statutory requirements for pupils with additional needs.
- Empathy, resilience and the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Confident in analysing data for regulatory and accreditation purposes.
- Degree-level education and evidence of teaching competence.
- Driving licence required
Preferred
- Experience working with SEMH/ASC pupils.
- Ability to use digital tools, manipulatives and Maths-specific software.
- Knowledge of functional numeracy and key skills tuition.
