Summary:

IT Teacher role with a focus on digital learning and student wellbeing.

The Opportunity:

As an IT Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the IT curriculum and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students across a range of qualifications. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s digital skills and future independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the IT curriculum for students from Entry Level 1 through to BTEC and GCSE qualifications.
  • Create engaging Programmes of Work and Schemes of Study tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the Examinations Officer to coordinate assessments and qualification entries.
  • Support the Acting Head of School with operational and administrative tasks.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning and wellbeing.
  • Stay up to date with developments in IT education and digital media.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or a related subject
  • Experience teaching BTEC and GCSE IT qualifications
  • At least 2 years’ recent experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles and abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire learners
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing

Preferred

  • Experience with digital learning and innovative teaching methods
  • Knowledge of SEMH teaching strategies
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership
