Located on Auckland’s North Shore, the school is committed to educational excellence, offering a comprehensive curriculum from Early Learning to Year 13 with a strong focus on the International Baccalaureate programme.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Science Faculty, you will lead a team of 18 specialist teachers and be responsible for the academic success of students in Years 7–13 across multiple science disciplines. This role is ideal for an experienced and innovative leader who is passionate about curriculum development and student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of science teachers, curriculum leaders, and technicians to deliver high-quality education.
  • Oversee the implementation of science curricula across Years 7–13, including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Environmental Science.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and budget to support the faculty’s strategic goals.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and the wider community.
  • Promote and support innovative teaching practices and student initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to drive school-wide educational outcomes.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and attend Camp Week at the start of each year.
  • Stay current with developments in science education and technology.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong background in science curriculum development and teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of teachers.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate or similar programmes.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a large faculty or department.
  • Knowledge of science-related technologies and digital tools.
  • Experience with student-led learning initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
