Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a highly engaging, needs-led curriculum that meets the unique needs of pupils.
  • Ensure robust assessment and tracking of academic and personal development.
  • Lead and embed high-quality teaching practices that drive effective learning.
  • Implement strategies to improve behaviour, attendance, and student engagement.
  • Integrate therapeutic approaches into the educational experience.
  • Promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and local stakeholders.
  • Establish systems to monitor and improve teaching standards.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for staff and pupils.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and statutory requirements.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing staff team.
  • Drive the school’s commercial success through effective management and planning.
  • Communicate progress clearly to stakeholders, including Ofsted and local authorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience in strategic planning, operational management, and school improvement
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high-quality provision
  • Ability to inspire and develop staff
  • Confidence in managing budgets, resources, and commercial priorities

Preferred

  • Experience in SEND or specialist education
  • Leadership in a new or developing school setting
  • Experience with therapeutic approaches in education
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
