Head of Drama sought for Pre-Prep and Prep Departments (ages 4-11).

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Drama to lead and inspire young learners in the Pre-Prep and Prep Departments. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, empathetic, and committed to delivering a high-quality, skills-based drama curriculum that challenges and engages students from age 4 to 11.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the drama curriculum for Pre-Prep and Prep Departments.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that foster creativity and confidence.
  • Support students in developing foundational drama skills that prepare them for future success.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate drama across the curriculum.
  • Manage and mentor junior drama staff and students.
  • Organize and oversee drama productions and performances.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in drama education.
  • Proven ability to teach drama to students aged 4–11.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and patience when working with young learners.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a drama department.
  • Background in developing and delivering creative curricula.
  • Familiarity with drama techniques for early years education.
  • Experience with drama productions and performance management.
