The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide essential care and support to students in the Health Centre. This role includes the potential for 24-hour care for boarding pupils and requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends. The position is ideal for someone who values a supportive and dynamic working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and professional healthcare support to students during term time.
  • Deliver 24-hour care when required, particularly for unwell or injured boarding pupils.
  • Work on a duty rota basis, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Ensure the Health Centre is maintained to a high standard at all times.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall wellbeing of students.
  • Monitor and report on the health and wellbeing of students as required.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in healthcare or a similar support role.
  • A commitment to working flexible hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic first aid and healthcare knowledge.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and wellbeing.
  • Experience with 24-hour care provision.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing demands.
