The Opportunity:
As an Operations Manager, you will oversee the smooth and cost-effective running of operational activities, working closely with a dedicated team to ensure the school’s facilities and services meet the highest standards. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s mission and ensuring the well-being of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of operational staff, including Housekeeping, Catering, Transport, and Reception.
- Ensure the efficient delivery of all operational services across the school’s facilities.
- Coordinate with the hard facilities management team to support building and grounds maintenance.
- Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to manage resources and budgets.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the school.
- Monitor and report on operational performance and compliance with school policies.
- Support the implementation of new initiatives and improvements to services.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in operations management, ideally within an educational or facilities management setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in budget management and resource planning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational institution.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of facility management systems and software.
- Experience in managing catering or transport services.
- Strong understanding of service delivery in a high-achieving academic environment.
