The Opportunity:

As an Operations Manager, you will oversee the smooth and cost-effective running of operational activities, working closely with a dedicated team to ensure the school’s facilities and services meet the highest standards. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s mission and ensuring the well-being of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of operational staff, including Housekeeping, Catering, Transport, and Reception.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery of all operational services across the school’s facilities.
  • Coordinate with the hard facilities management team to support building and grounds maintenance.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to manage resources and budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the school.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance and compliance with school policies.
  • Support the implementation of new initiatives and improvements to services.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in operations management, ideally within an educational or facilities management setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in budget management and resource planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of facility management systems and software.
  • Experience in managing catering or transport services.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery in a high-achieving academic environment.
