Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to students with complex needs.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide individualised support.
  • Manage classroom resources and assist in maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support students during trips, visits, and other school activities.
  • Assist in managing heightened behaviours and ensuring the safety of students.
  • Participate in therapeutic and reflective sessions to support student well-being.
  • Contribute to the development of academic and extra-curricular opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience working with children with complex needs, including learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in special education or therapeutic support settings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular planning.
