Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to students with complex needs.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide individualised support.
- Manage classroom resources and assist in maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Support students during trips, visits, and other school activities.
- Assist in managing heightened behaviours and ensuring the safety of students.
- Participate in therapeutic and reflective sessions to support student well-being.
- Contribute to the development of academic and extra-curricular opportunities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience working with children with complex needs, including learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience in special education or therapeutic support settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular planning.
