The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a student with specific needs. This role is ideal for a proactive and passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact on student learning and development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a student across the curriculum with tailored assistance and guidance.
  • Assist in the delivery of academic support, assessment, and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support services to ensure student progress.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities in VI Awareness, Braille, and assistive technology.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Monitor and support students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring interventions are effective.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive and accessible learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with visual impairment or a willingness to complete training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Commitment to supporting student learning and development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and innovative educational setting.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a teaching or support role within a school environment.
  • Experience with assistive technology or Braille.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education or Benedictine values.
