The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH/SEN) to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and preparing engaging learning materials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including marking and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure a holistic approach to student care and development.
  • Implement strategies to promote social, emotional, and mental health well-being among students.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding and health and safety standards.
  • Deliver a flexible curriculum tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide leadership and professional guidance to support staff and students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in both Maths and English.
  • Commitment to working with students with SEMH and autism.
  • Experience or willingness to obtain a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
  • Valid driving licence.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of autism and strategies for teaching students with SEMH.
  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in therapeutic education provision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
