The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History and RS Teacher to join our high-performing Social Sciences department on a fixed-term basis until 17th July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a department with a proven track record of success and to support students in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History and Religious Studies lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Learning (Social Sciences) and other department heads to ensure the continued success of the department.
  • Support students in achieving excellent examination results and fostering a love of learning.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a well-resourced Religious Studies curriculum.
  • Engage in staff development and professional learning opportunities.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and student leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in History and Religious Studies.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Experience of teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Religious Studies at Key Stage 3.
  • A proven track record of raising student attainment and progress.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative, collegiate environment.
  • Familiarity with assessment and curriculum development.
