Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of History.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental planning and development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
- Support students in their academic and personal development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded curriculum.
- Stay up to date with current events and developments in History to enhance lesson content and relevance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire a love of History in students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of positive behaviour.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at sixth-form level.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities related to History.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in the classroom.
- Leadership experience or the ability to take on additional responsibilities within the department.
