Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a balanced and differentiated History curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Support the school’s dyslexia specialist teaching approach and ensure it is embedded in all teaching practices.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress to support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and help raise standards in History.
- Participate in training, inset days and open days throughout the year.
- Ensure compliance with “Keeping Children Safe in Education” guidelines.
- Engage in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in History.
- Proven ability to teach History from Key Stage 3 to 4.
- Experience working with dyslexic students and implementing dyslexia-friendly teaching strategies.
- Strong understanding of assessment and reporting procedures.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational or independent school setting.
- Familiarity with the CReStEd accreditation and dyslexia specialist provision.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular and pastoral activities.
