The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Geography Teacher to join a growing and supportive department. This role includes oversight of BTEC Travel and Tourism and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Geography curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire student interest and achievement in Geography.
  • Support the development of BTEC Travel and Tourism qualifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and student achievement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide initiatives and strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in leading a department or managing a team.
  • Commitment to student achievement and continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with BTEC qualifications or vocational education.
  • Familiarity with using interactive teaching technologies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes and engagement.
