The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Geography Teacher to join a growing and supportive department. This role includes oversight of BTEC Travel and Tourism and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Geography curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire student interest and achievement in Geography.
- Support the development of BTEC Travel and Tourism qualifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and professional development.
- Promote a culture of high expectations and student achievement.
- Work closely with senior leadership to implement school-wide initiatives and strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
- Experience in leading a department or managing a team.
- Commitment to student achievement and continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with BTEC qualifications or vocational education.
- Familiarity with using interactive teaching technologies.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- A track record of improving student outcomes and engagement.
