Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the teaching and learning of Science across the school.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Physics and Science.
  • Share and develop excellent teaching practice with colleagues.
  • Maximize student learning through innovative and effective teaching methods.
  • Support and mentor other Science teachers within the department.
  • Contribute to the school’s vision of high achievement and success for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to improve the quality of Science education.
  • Ensure that Science curriculum is engaging, challenging, and aligned with school values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science and Physics.
  • Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience in developing and leading departmental initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a Science department or similar role.
  • Knowledge of specialist areas such as mathematics and computing.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement initiatives.
