Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with their learning and engagement, encouraging them to achieve personal and academic goals.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development through consistent and compassionate guidance.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment by following established protocols and practices.
  • Assist in delivering a personalized, autism-informed curriculum that supports communication and social interaction.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure the needs of each pupil are met.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to parents and carers on pupil progress and well-being.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or SEN setting.
  • Understanding of autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
