Lead SENDCo opportunity with a focus on SEND provision and support for students with additional needs.

The Opportunity:

As the Lead SENDCo, you will play a strategic role in shaping and implementing a unified approach to SEND provision across multiple schools, ensuring consistency and excellence in support for students with additional needs. This is an opportunity to lead with impact and drive meaningful change in an inspiring educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage SEND provision across multiple settings to ensure consistent and high-quality support for students with additional needs.
  • Develop and implement inclusive practices in collaboration with academy principals, SENCOs, and support staff.
  • Provide expert guidance on interventions, funding applications, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Foster collaboration among the academies to create an integrated support network for students and staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of SENCOs and staff across the academies through training and professional guidance.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements and best practices in SEND provision are met across the school community.
  • Work closely with external agencies and parents to provide holistic support for students with additional needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a SENDCo or in a similar leadership role within education.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory requirements and best practices in SEND provision.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and parents.
  • Experience in developing and delivering inclusive practices and interventions.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate SEND provision across multiple settings.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational network.
  • Experience with funding applications and resource management for SEND provision.
  • Background in supporting students with a wide range of additional needs.
  • Experience in training and mentoring SENCOs and support staff.
  • Knowledge of current SEND policies and initiatives in England.
