The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support autistic pupils in their learning journey. This role is central to helping students achieve their personal outcomes and access mainstream schooling when appropriate. The successful candidate will be a key member of the SRP KS2 team and will make a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support autistic pupils in achieving their personalised outcomes and accessing mainstream schooling when appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver targeted communication and interaction interventions to support students' social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students across different ability levels.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of working with children with additional needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
  • A passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a special needs provision or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and communication and interaction interventions.
  • Experience in delivering SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
