The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs achieve their full potential. This is a casual, flexible role that offers the chance to work across both primary and secondary settings, supporting learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals or groups of pupils to access all areas of the curriculum
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create outstanding learning opportunities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 or small-group interventions to support learning
- Communicate pupil progress to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and extra-curricular activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above
- Experience of working with children or young people with additional needs
- Understanding of how additional needs may impact learning
- Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
- Experience of using differentiation strategies to meet a range of learning needs
Preferred
- Experience working in a school setting
- Knowledge of SEND support strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work across both primary and secondary phases
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.26 plus casual plusage of 12.07%
