The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning, achievement, and wellbeing of SEND students. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a strong SEND department in a highly successful institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of SEND students across Year 7 to 13 in line with the National Curriculum and academy policies.
  • Assist in planning and delivering targeted learning activities to help students reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent and effective approach to learning support.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement in all learning activities.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that supports the emotional and social development of students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and support strategies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to student records and learning support plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent GCSE grade C/4).
  • Commitment to supporting the learning and wellbeing of SEND students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team environment.

Preferred

  • Relevant qualifications such as TA (Teaching Assistant) certification, childcare qualifications, or Level 3 qualifications.
  • Experience in education or support roles, particularly with SEND students.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and best practices in learning support.
