The Opportunity:

As a Librarian Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the library’s operations and promoting a culture of reading and information literacy across the school. You will work closely with students and staff to enhance learning experiences and create a welcoming library environment that inspires discovery and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloguing, circulation, and maintaining library resources.
• Promote a positive reading culture and encourage students’ independent reading and research skills.
• Plan and deliver engaging library, literacy, and information skills lessons to support the curriculum.
• Support students and staff in accessing appropriate learning resources, both print and digital.
• Maintain an organised, inclusive, and welcoming library environment that supports learning and student engagement.
• Support the School Librarian in delivering library services and initiatives.
• Assist with the development and implementation of library-related events and programs.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a school or library setting
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

Preferred

• Experience in teaching or delivering literacy and information skills lessons
• Familiarity with digital library systems and resources
• Knowledge of ecological education or sustainability practices
