The Opportunity:

As a Librarian, you will play a key role in creating an inspiring and dynamic learning environment that supports both students and teachers. You will help develop students' research and reading skills while contributing to a welcoming and engaging library culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize the daily operation of the library as a welcoming and service-oriented point of contact for pupils and teachers
  • Support pupils with project work, presentations, and seminar papers
  • Plan and deliver workshops on research skills, citation methods, and source evaluation
  • Promote language development and reading engagement through targeted learning programs
  • Manage and maintain the media collection, including cataloguing, inventory management, and presentation
  • Organize the school textbook lending service and ensure a current, diverse, and high-quality range of resources
  • Design and continuously develop an inviting and stimulating library environment
  • Plan and implement reading initiatives and activities to strengthen the school’s culture of reading

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library, Information, or Media Studies, or a teaching qualification in German or English
  • Experience as a tutor or student assistant at university level
  • Initial experience teaching academic working methods
  • Excellent German and English language skills (C1/C2 level)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence in using digital media and research tools

Preferred

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
  • Creativity and a strong aesthetic sense for designing engaging learning spaces
