The Opportunity:

As a Nurture Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students who need a structured, nurturing introduction to secondary education. This is a key position in helping students build emotional security, positive learning behaviours, and academic confidence, preparing them for future success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality, nurturing lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Create a safe, structured environment that supports emotional development, self-esteem, and positive behaviour
  • Plan and deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum aligned with nurture principles
  • Track and report on pupil progress, including meeting EHCP targets
  • Act as the key adult for a small cohort of pupils, providing consistent support and guidance
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to student development
  • Support students in transitioning to appropriate secondary pathways
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in nurture provision or special educational needs
  • Experience working with students who require emotional and behavioural support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience in designing and delivering differentiated curricula
  • Knowledge of nurture principles and best practices in emotional development
  • Experience with EHCP targets and progress tracking
  • Experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and child protection
