Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, well-planned and innovative Science lessons that promote high achievement and student progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Support students in developing a deep understanding of scientific concepts and skills.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new teaching methods and resources.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and events.
- Ensure the effective use of laboratory facilities and resources in line with health and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science education.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
- Experience of teaching Science to students across a range of abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take on responsibility for departmental initiatives.
Preferred
- Experience of working in a school with a strong focus on student achievement and well-being.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
- Experience of leading or contributing to staff development and training.
- Experience of using technology to enhance Science teaching and learning.
