The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Mathematics Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role involves teaching Mathematics to GCSE and A-level students, with an opportunity to teach A-Level Further Pure Mathematics. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the school’s high academic standards while fostering a passion for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics to GCSE and A-level students using the Edexcel exam board.
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that promote a love of Mathematics.
  • Prepare and create innovative teaching resources that support departmental development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and improve teaching practices.
  • Support students in achieving high academic results while encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of departmental initiatives and events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attainment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification and registration with the GTCS or in the process of achieving this.
  • Strong academic background in Mathematics.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at GCSE and A-level.
  • Ability to plan and deliver creative and challenging lessons to a range of age groups.
  • Excellent organisational skills and punctuality.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team and sharing ideas with colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A-Level Further Pure Mathematics.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods that enhance student learning.
  • Experience in developing and producing teaching resources for Mathematics.
