The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee the management of three payrolls and ensure the accuracy of payroll data. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the school’s HR and finance functions and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage both systems and people effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate payroll data, including pay rates, personal details, and statutory information.
- Oversee the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and statutory requirements.
- Administer and calculate P11D information accurately.
- Liaise with relevant departments and external bodies to ensure payroll processes are up to date.
- Provide clear and timely communication to staff regarding payroll matters.
- Support the implementation of payroll software and systems as required.
- Monitor and review payroll processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant payroll qualification, such as CIPD.
- Experience working with payroll databases and systems.
- Working knowledge of P11D administration and calculation.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and line manage a team member effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within an educational institution.
- Familiarity with WCBS Payroll Plus software.
- Knowledge of broader HR and finance processes.
