Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective PE lessons for girls at Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE and Sports Studies.
  • Support the development of students’ physical and sporting skills through extra-curricular and competitive activities.
  • Encourage a lifelong appreciation of physical activity and its benefits to health and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the PE curriculum and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to professional development and evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Promote the school’s values and culture through positive role modelling and student engagement.
  • Prepare and assess students in line with curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Participate in staff development and school events as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching PE, ideally with a focus on girls’ PE.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE and Sports Studies.
  • Commitment to promoting physical activity and student wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A level PE.
  • Experience with extra-curricular and competitive sport.
  • Experience with evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Experience with professional development and peer-coaching models.
