The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join our team for a one-year period starting in September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, deliver a high-quality PE curriculum, and contribute to a supportive and dynamic department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons that promote physical fitness and lifelong participation in sport.
  • Develop and implement a diverse and inclusive curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and a love for physical activity.
  • Support students in achieving excellence in GCSE PE and Cambridge National Sports Studies.
  • Participate actively in departmental and school-wide extra-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to raise attainment and improve student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PE department through innovative teaching practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Physical Education.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching GCSE PE or Cambridge National Sports Studies.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching students.
  • Previous experience in a school environment with a strong focus on extra-curricular engagement.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and professional growth opportunities.
