Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Design Technology – Food & Nutrition to students at both key stages.
  • Support colleagues in the department to improve teaching and learning practices.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and raise attainment at GCSE.
  • Participate in professional development and mentoring programs.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Food & Nutrition.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology – Food & Nutrition at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and professional development.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities when required.

Preferred

  • Experience with CPD and mentoring programs.
  • Familiarity with National Professional Qualifications.
  • Experience with teaching outside the specialism.
  • Background in raising attainment at GCSE level.
  • Interest in extra-curricular and pastoral support.
