The Opportunity:
As the People Strategy Director, you will lead the human resources strategy and ensure that all HR practices align with the school’s mission and the unique demands of a 24/7 boarding community. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who understands the importance of a cohesive, mission-driven culture in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive People Strategy that supports the school’s mission and strategic goals.
- Serve as a trusted partner to the Senior Leadership Team, providing insight on organizational structure, leadership development, and cultural health.
- Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance management.
- Champion a culture of inclusion, professional excellence, and well-being across the campus community.
- Lead change management initiatives related to policy shifts, strategic planning, and organizational development.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations specific to educational institutions.
- Strategically manage staff housing, duty requirements, and work-life balance in a close-knit campus environment.
- Provide executive guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters with fairness and integrity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- CPHR designation (or equivalent professional certification) and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Significant experience in the education sector or boarding school environment.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic talent management plans and performance systems.
- Extensive knowledge of employment law and risk mitigation, including non-traditional compensation structures.
Preferred
- Experience in leading organizational change and fostering high ethical standards.
- Demonstrated success in building trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges of a 24/7 boarding school environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary range of $140,000 - $170,000 with starting salary based on experience and internal parity.
