The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic team as a Performing Arts Teacher (Maternity Cover) and help shape the creative development of young students. This role offers the chance to direct and rehearse for senior and junior productions, while delivering engaging drama lessons across multiple year groups. It is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and recent graduates looking to build a strong foundation in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach classroom Drama lessons to Forms 1-6 (Years 3-8)
- Run ‘Performing Arts Fridays’ to develop students’ Performing Arts skills
- Select, direct and rehearse Senior and Junior productions throughout the year
- Coordinate with the Senior Leadership team to schedule rehearsals effectively
- Collaborate with the PTFA to support costume and set design for productions
- Offer teaching in another subject if eligible
- Participate in the co-curricular programme by offering sport and other activities
- Contribute to the life of a busy and thriving boarding Prep School
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Performing Arts
- Experience teaching Drama or Performing Arts to children aged 6-13
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to direct and rehearse school productions
- Commitment to working in a boarding environment
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development in Performing Arts
- Experience working in a co-educational setting
- Familiarity with digital education tools
- Experience with outdoor or experiential learning
